The human mind tends to value an immediate lower payoff over a long-term gain. But Long-term thinking has always benefited us as individuals and as a society. Unlike other animals, our minds can imagine the future. We have progressed from using wood as our energy source to electricity powering our lives like never before. Yet we rarely deploy this ability in daily life. Few people can let go of the bias of immediate return. Today, extending our perspectives has become increasingly important as our actions are rippling further into the future. The concept of sustainability arises from this long-term thinking approach.

Sustainable lifestyle is no more just a choice but needs to be our way of life

The human mind tends to value an immediate lower payoff over a long-term gain. But Long-term thinking has always benefited us as individuals and as a society. Unlike other animals, our minds can imagine the future. We have progressed from using wood as our energy source to electricity powering our lives like never before. Yet we rarely deploy this ability in daily life. Few people can let go of the bias of immediate return. Today, extending our perspectives has become increasingly important as our actions are rippling further into the future. The concept of sustainability arises from this long-term thinking approach.

What is sustainability? The United Nations (UN) defines sustainability simply as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Our individual choices matter today more than ever. With rising disposable incomes, people can afford the things that provide them comfort and convenience and the things that reflect their status and style. Fear of missing out on trends haunts the millennials and gen Zs more than anything. On average, consumers throw away 60 percent of their clothes in the first year. Today, we produce about 400 million tonnes of plastic waste every year. As mankind has progressed, we have impacted the planet adversely.

Amidst this consumerism, there is a need to be a conscious consumer who considers ownership cost as well as environmental impact while making any product purchase. Thankfully the silver lining is that in the last decade simple sleek designs have become the style statement of the sophisticated. Then be it mobile phones or bikes. As they say, don’t go just by the looks, the concept of cost of ownership should be a part of day-to-day conversations. Products with better quality, efficiency, and lower environmental impact usually have higher production costs. But over the long term, their benefit offsets their higher purchase price and provides attractive cost savings compared to conventional products.

To enable consumers, to adopt a sustainable lifestyle we are creating revolutionary products. Our EXA ceiling fans deliver 60% energy efficiency over a conventional fan. The reduced electricity consumption reduces the emissions of greenhouse gases emitted in the electricity generation process. The EXA fan not only cuts your electricity bill by more than half but also helps you avoid a decent amount of air pollution.
